Aftercare
Once you have had your spray tan, remember that water is your enemy! Try to keep cool and minimise sweating or should we say ‘glowing’!
Leave your tan on for at least 8 hours and overnight if possible before showering or taking a bath. This allows your tan to develop fully.
Remember….. When you take a shower or take a bath you will probably see some colour wash off. Don't worry. This is quite normal ~ it is only the colour guide that the spray tan technician uses when the tan is applied. You will still be left with a gorgeous tan underneath.
| Avoid wearing socks or shoes after your tanning session as sweating can inhibit the even development of your tan. Sandals or flip flops are a good choice. | |
| Avoid applying moisturisers or deodorants until after your 1st shower. | |
| Avoid wearing tight clothing for at least 5 hours. | |
| All swimming, showering and vigorous exercise must be avoided for at least 5 hours as this can inhibit the even development of your tan. | |
| Don't shave until 12 hours after your treatment. | |
| Don't sit on light coloured fabrics until you've showered or taken a bath as the colour guide can cause discolouration. | |
| Do NOT exfoliate for at least 48 hours after your sunless tanning application. When you do exfoliate, remember to do so gently and evenly to preserve an even, sunless tan. |
Maintaining your Tan
Following your 1st shower, it is recommended you follow these general guidelines to maintain your tan:
| Moisturise regularly (use oil-free moisturiser). Apply to the face & body using circular motions | |
| Pat your skin dry after a bath or shower. Rubbing your skin may rub off your tan. | |
| Moisturise your skin regularly every time you bathe to maintain colour. Apply to the face and body using circular motions. | |
| Don’t forget to apply SPF when sunbathing! Your tan cannot protect your skin from burning. | |
| Avoid long hot baths and showers as this speeds up exfoliation. | |
| Avoid swimming pools or sea water as these can reduce your tan. |
