Answers:
Where can I be sprayed?
I have a portable pop up spraying booth & extractor fan - you will only need floor space of approximately 6ft x 3ft for the booth plus room for me to stand in to spray.
How long does it take to apply?
It takes approximately 10 minutes to apply and 2-5 minutes to dry.
Does it have any smell?
It is almost completely odourless and certainly not unpleasant.
How can I be sure I won’t get the ‘Tango’ effect and look orange?!
Careful matching of your skin tone with the correct concentration of tanning solution will ensure that your applied tan does not look orange! If you are worried about this because of any previous bad experiences, always discuss this with your Technician and she can help you select the right colour for your skin tone. (Usually if this has happened in the past, it is because the level of DHA was too high for your natural skin pigment to deal with.) The future is only bright for Orange (Telecommunications company!)
Do I need a 2nd / double application on the day?
No, just one single application will give you a rich golden colour that lasts for 5 - 7 days depending on your preparation & aftercare routine. The colour will fade like a natural tan. A 2nd layer of tanning solution only builds up the layer of the colour guide and makes you sticky - it will not make your tan any darker or last any longer.
How often can I get a Spray Tan?
As often as you like - the formula is completely safe and DHA is approved for widespread cosmetic use. Most people like to top up their tan once a week and it is completely safe to do so.
What is double dipping?
This is when you return for a 2nd spray tan within 48 hours of your 1st application. It is one way of making your tan a deeper natural colour as the layers build up. The layering has to occur following a shower of the 1st application and this darker effect cannot be achieved just by being sprayed twice on the same day! (see above)
Will the tan protect me from sunburn?
Absolutely NOT! You must use sunscreen as there is no Sun Protection Factor (SPF) in the sunless tanning solution.
Will my tan stain my clothes, towels and bed sheets?
Try to wear loose fitting dark clothes after the application until you have your first shower. The benefit of mobile tanning in your own home is that you can put on your PJ's / dressing gown / tracksuit straight after the application without having to on put any formal clothing or go outside.
Some light coloured fabrics may stain, so avoid wearing light coloured nylon, silk or wool fabrics after treatment. Other light coloured fabrics may stain slightly but the stains should wash out.
Will my sunless tan go away if I swim in a chlorinated pool?
Long exposure to water, with or without chlorine, will fade your sunless tan.
This is apparently what happens: your outer skin cells will start to soak up water, and that dilutes the effect of the sunless tan. The longer you’re in the water, the worse it will be. Using sunless tanners regularly over a period of time will saturate the skin better and the sunless tan will hold up longer in water, but it will still be affected. Some people report that applying a waterproof sunscreen before they get in the water prevents their sunless tan from fading as quickly. But no sunless tan can stand up to extreme conditions such as a day spent in a wet suit.
I am / may be pregnant; can I still have a tan?
It is not recommended to have a spray tan in the first 3 months of pregnancy but after this time it is fine.
I suffer from Asthma so will a spray tan affect it?
If you are prone to Asthma then please advise your Technician so you can choose to wear a mask during spraying. Always bring your inhaler to the appointment in case you need to use it.
I have Eczema / Dermatitis / Psoriasis – can I get a tan?
Providing you are not in a classic ‘flare-up stage’ then a spray tan is fine to apply. Check with your Technician for any other symptoms that may require special attention.
I have just had Botox, will this matter?
Any Botox, fillers or other beauty treatments (including eyelash and eyebrow tinting) should be carried out at least 24 hours prior to a Spray tan to ensure there are no side effects from this treatment.
